Barka-chan’s House
むかしむかし、子供の頃に描いた絵です。
たぶん、5～6才だと思います。
こんな頃からこういう小さなお話の絵が好きだったんだなと驚きます。
This is a drawing I made long ago, when I was a child.
I think I was probably about five or six years old.
It surprises me to realize that even back then, I already loved drawing pictures that told small stories like this.
細かいところは忘れてしまいましたが、絵によく出てくるのは、バーカーちゃんというオバケ。
バーカーちゃんの妹がパーカーちゃんです。
I don’t remember all the details anymore, but a character who often appears in my drawings is a little ghost named Barka-chan.
His younger sister is called Parka-chan.
なんと、私に付き合って、父や母も絵付のお話やお手紙をよく描いてくれました。
捨てずに取っておいてよかった、と思える思い出の品です。
What’s more, my father and mother would often join in and draw illustrated stories and letters together with me.
I’m really glad I kept these instead of throwing them away— they’ve become precious memories.

バーカーちゃんのお家が描かれています。
Today, this particular drawing caught my eye.
It shows Barka-chan’s house.
He lives in a log-cabin-like home with a chimney.
煙突のあるログハウスのような家に住んでいます。
パーカーちゃんにプレゼントするお花を摘んできたようです。
It seems he has just picked some flowers as a gift for Parka-chan.
見てると、なんだか幸せな気持ちになります🌷
Looking at it makes me feel quietly happy.🌷
