A Little Chirimen Dove
キットで作った、ちりめん細工の鳩さんです。
This is a chirimen craft dove I made from a kit.
ちりめんのやわらかな風合いのお人形がずっと好きで、「いつか自分でも作れたらいいな」と思っていました。
飾りすぎない素朴なフォルムに、可憐な和柄。見ているだけで、なんだか心が落ち着きます。
I’ve always loved the soft texture of chirimen dolls, and I’d been wishing that someday I could make one myself.
Its simple, unadorned shape and delicate traditional Japanese patterns are so charming. Just looking at it makes me feel calm.
こちらは正面から。
Here it is from the front.
真上から見ると、背中は小さな巾着になっています。
中には綿が入っているだけなのですが、昔は何かを入れていたのでしょうか。
小さなお菓子や、お守りなどを忍ばせていたのかもしれませんね。
From above, you can see that its back is shaped like a little drawstring pouch.
Inside there’s only cotton stuffing, but I wonder if long ago people placed something inside.
Perhaps a small sweet, or maybe a lucky charm?
巾着の紐の先には、丸いボール飾り。
こういうささやかなポイントひとつで、全体の雰囲気がぐっと華やぎますね。
At the ends of the pouch strings are tiny round beads.
It’s amazing how such a small detail can gently change the whole feeling of the piece.

ある時期、夢中になってキットを10個ほど作りました。
「次は本を見ながら作ってみよう」と、本と生地も準備してあるのですが……まだじっと待機中です💦
For a while, I was so absorbed that I made about ten kits.
I even bought a book and fabric to try making one on my own… but they’re still patiently waiting 💦
コツをもう少しつかめたら、いつかオリジナルのちりめん人形も作ってみたいな、と思っています。
Once I get the hang of it a little more, I’d love to create my own original chirimen doll someday.
